Cover Letter

Yesterday was a pretty perfectly balanced day; I gamed a little (Assassin's Creed) and watched television; walked the dog, delivered Christmas cards and also managed to finish an episode of the radio series. So yeah, go me being all awesome and doing things even though it's the holidays. I'm trying to be that hard-working every day this holiday which means I may be blog-light for the near future.

And now it's time for the most wondrous moment of the LGC month, it's the time when I look at the recently released solicitations (for Marvel & DC) and their covers whilst geeking over them or making fun of them. So hush yo clap-trap and gawk at what's in store for March. I didn't find a lot that excited me this month over at either Marvel or DC PLUS NO IRON FIST. GAH!! How sad is that??

DC is currently counting down to something or other and things are dying; it's all very crazy. But instead of looking at those I want to see crudely drawn playground battles about Tiny Titans.

With the invention of a Gun that shoots money Robin must battle the dark deadly world of counterfitting.

This cover confuses my mind, where does Nightwing end and weird-looking badguy begin. Plus Nightwing's body seems to be impossibly bendy. It warps my brain I tells ya!

This cover apparently features some new Power Ranger-esque versions of Onslaught and Stryfe. Kirkman continues to Ultimise as many characters as he can. That's one way to write a story...

I really like Cebulski's series of Fairy Tale stories utilising Marvel Characters. And this cover that looks like it could be lifted straight from a story book is the perfect way to start the Avengers tales.

I have to admit that I haven't read any of Annihilation but this cover just looks amazingly cool. Ultron... Phalanx it's getting a little crazy.

OK let's take this from top to bottom. OK brick wall, that looks normal. Head is fine, arms a little bulky; never mind, sensible torso. OH NO! GIANT WEIRD THIGH. Ah well, it is the most anatomically correct cover so far...that's something...right?

So Ghost Rider is an Angel, which means he wants revenge...on America's poor health care service. I just wanted an excuse to post a Djurdjevic cover.

This David Mack cover is absolutely gorgeous. It's been a while since I've witnessed the painted loveliness of his artwork and I really excited to get a hold of this.

Bloody Hell this Cover is amazing. It is by far my favourite cover of the month. Maleev's gritty artwork looks like a fantastic way to sell the Punisher. this looks like it should be for the Max title not Matt Fraction's (Greatest name in comics) Punisher War Journal. But it sure is stunning.

After a very long wait BKV's Logan series is released. Vaughan working for Marvel again? Excellent. Vaughan writing a very cool, stunningly drawn Wolverine story? Priceless.

This month's prettiest cover is by Marko Djurdjevic, mainly to keep with tradition but also because the man manages to fully and beautiful capture the depression and anger Daredevil is obviously feeling.
There's also a stunning Thor cover by Djurdjevic but I'd only be posting it because of my excitement over him doing the interior art as well; and I did that last month.

And the Month of March has six comics happy enough to have Wolverine grace their covers. There we go, that amount is much more like it.

Just wanted to add that one issue of Avengers: Fairy Tales is going to be drawn by Adrian Alphona, co-creator of the Runaways.

Yay!
